The Detroit Lions’ red zone struggles were back on display this past Sunday against the Cowboys. Though they did score once Tavon Wilson Jersey , thanks to a phenomenal run from rookie Kerryon Johnson, earlier in the game, the Lions were forced to settle for a field goal, pushing an early lead to four instead of eight. Combine that with Detroit’s other three games, and you get literally the worst red zone offense in the entire NFL.This is particularly troubling when you consider how good the Lions’ offense has been outside of the red area. According to Football Outsiders, the Lions are ninth in average yards per drive, 14th in points per drive, and they only go three-and-out 14 percent of the time, which is good for third best. Also interesting of note, the other three teams with poor red zone offenses are the three teams that have defeated Detroit thus far. It should come as no surprise that the Lions’ red zone defense (by touchdown percentage) is third-best in the league—allowing a touchdown just 35.7 percent of the time. Matt Millen is stepping down from his announcing role with Big Ten Network to focus on his health. As you may remember Authentic Matt Prater Jersey , Millen is dealing with a rare heart disease and fighting for his life. Obviously, this news doesn’t seem like a good sign, but we’re hoping for the best for the former Lions general manager: The odds to win the NFC North are pretty evenly dispersed... except for the Lions. Per Bovada.LV, here’s what the odds look like after Week 4:Packers: 8/5Bears: 2/1Vikings: 2/1Lions: 18/1Yikes.Hey, the Lions aren’t terrible in the first half. Hooray? Recapping film review pieces from around the Lions beat: Justin Rogers has five observations, and Kyle Meinke describes how the Lions’ plan to force Dak Prescott to throw backfired.Don’t look at this. Close out your window right now. Save yourself: Everybody loves on-field audio. The Lions provided the “Sights and Sounds” for their Week 4 game against the Dallas Cowboys. Lions players in superhero costumes + helping out families dealing with pediatric cancer = awesome.Saturday open thread: Who are the key Lions players vs. Cowboys? The Detroit Lions have created their own opportunity last week. Facing the possibility of an 0-3 hole that almost no teams ever crawl out of, Detroit pulled off a huge upset over the New England Patriots. Now, thanks to struggles around the rest of the division, the Lions can jump the Vikings this week, and could even theoretically jump to a tie for the division lead by the end of Sunday. But to keep the good times rolling Youth Nevin Lawson Jersey , they can’t look past a hungry Dallas Cowboys team. The Cowboys have been the source of a lot of criticism over the past couple weeks, and if they can’t turn things around soon, they risk falling far enough behind the reigning Super Bowl champs that they won’t be able to recover. So the Lions will need some big individual performances to come out of Dallas with a win. Today’s Question of the Day is:Who are the Lions’ key players vs. the Cowboys? My answer: I’ll give one on offense, one on defense. Offensively, I think the Lions need a big game out of Matthew Stafford. It’s the easy answer, yes, but he’s going to have a challenge this week with an impressive Cowboys front seven. Stafford has been inconsistent thus far in 2018, and he has way too many turnovers. Detroit just can’t succeed with Stafford giving the ball away that often. Defensively, it’s all about stopping Ezekiel Elliott, and that means it’s time for Jarrad Davis to step up. Unfortunately http://www.lionsauthorizedshops.com/authentic-taylor-decker-jersey , Davis popped up on Friday’s injury report, which means there’s no guarantee he’ll play this week, but if he does, he’s going to be at his best. Not only will he have to play gap-discipline football, but he’ll need to show some more controlled tackling than he’s displayed thus far. Elliott is the kind of running back that will immediately punish someone with unsound tackling form, and Davis has been all over the place.Your turn.Tweets from https://twitter.com/PrideOfDetroit/lists/lions-coverage
