See all of the Fortnite Division

Fortnite has one of the most competitive update schedules in the company, and it is clear that upgrading a match so frequently can cause all kinds of unanticipated problems to develop. Last extended downtime has been the result of mistakes that caused a disproportionate quantity of database questions, fortnite materials and Epic went into some pretty extreme detail describing exactly what was happening. The company has a custom of a certain degree of transparency, so expect lots of upgrades if this goes on much longer.

A little good news for Fortnite players on Nintendo Switch: Epic has additional gyro controls into the game, so if you prefer aiming with a bit of help from the movement controllers rather than rely entirely on the thumbsticks, you're in luck.

I'm still a bit conflicted over motion controls myself, but I don't think that it hurts to have the alternative. I'll take the Change version for a spin and see how gyro controls help or hinder the encounter.

Note: An earlier version of this post stated you could utilize the same Epic accounts on either Nintendo Switch and PS4 following the v5.0 upgrade. This was a mistake. I was basing my information from an article at gaming site IGN. That article has since been updated with this note from the editor.

Editor's Note: This article erroneously buy fortnite traps stated that gamers on Switch can use their Epic account should they initially played on PS4. This really isn't the case and was written in error, and the guide has since been updated. IGN regrets the mistake.IGN is typically a very reliable source on gaming news and I was as excited as the next Fortnite enthusiast by this change.
