Good night, everyone!11:00 PM: The Jaguars, after forcing a punt and being in complete “F it” mode, once again come up short on 4th down as Moncrief drops a pass in his hands that would’ve been well enough to move the chains.10:36 PM: After a couple of nice completions to Westbrook, Kessler leads the Jags into scoring territory and connects with Westbrook for a touchdown in the back right end zone. 30-9 Titans.10:27 PM: Henry takes the ball and runs untouched for long measures of distance and scores points on the very next play. 30-2 Titans and we still have 5:22 in the 3rd quarter and Henry is up to 219 yards rushing.10:22 PM: Kessler completes a 45 yard bomb to someone named Keelan Cole, then gets rocked on a broken protection by the line, and fumbles it away to the Titans. Cody didn’t stand a chance on the play.10:16 PM: Tennessee drives it down the field with the assistance of some of the worst tackling a Jaguars team has ever displayed. Henry waltzes into the end zone basically untouched from 14 yards out for the score. 23-2 Titans in the 3rd quarter, but this one is over, folks.10:05 PM: The Jags opening drive of the second half is marred by the worst damn holding calls in the history of the sport. I’m not even kidding. Titans take over inside their 30. The NFL officiating this year has been a huge pile of dung.9:44 PM: The Titans move the ball but settle for a Ryan Succop field goal before the clock runs out on the first half. Tennessee leads 16-2 in what is likely an insurmountable lead.9:31 PM: The Titans and Jags trade three and outs, and now Logan Cooke shanks a punt with Tennessee taking over at their own 40 with 1:17 left in the half.9:21 PM: The Jaguars move the ball to the Titans 45 before Kessler is sacked on third and five by Jerrell Casey. Folks, this is probably going to get ugly now. 13-2 Titans, as Succop misses the extra point.9:07 PM: Well, the Jaguars, and Kessler especially, do a great job moving the ball through the air and all the way down to the Titans 3 yard line...but are unable to convert following three failed Fournette attempts and an incomplete pass to Tommy Bohanon where he appeared to be held by a Titans defender, but of course there is no call. Jags miss a huge opportunity, and Titans take over at their 3 yard line. 7-2 Titans, 2nd quarter.8:55 PM: That’s the end of the first quarter, here’s a look at the safety.8:51 PM: SAFETY! Weird turn of events here. The Jags are forced to punt after going three and out, but Titans returner Batson muffs the punt and tries to pick it up in the end zone and run it back, where he is met by Leon Jacobs and Quenton Meeks who tackle him for the safey. Jags will receive the free kick. Titans lead 7-2.8:44 PM: INTERCEPTION! Jags punt it away into Titans territory. 8:29 PM: And just like that, it’s 7-0 Titans. Tennessee goes 73 yards on 10 plays as the Titans use Deion Lewis and the screen game to gash the Jags defense down the field, ending in a Derrick Henry 3 yard plunge into the end zone. Not the start I expected from a defense that’s been lights out for most of the last month.8:23 PM: Titans will start at their own 27.8:20 PM:We are set to kick off from Nashville. The Jaguars have won the toss and deferred, the Titans offense gets first dibs.7:48 PM: And in a spot on the NFL on FOX’s coverage tonight, insider Jay Glazer confirms that the Jaguars will indeed move on from Blake Bortles after the season is over. Nothing we didn’t know, but the two top national insiders confirming it gives it a lot more substance.7:30 PM: While we wait, NFL Network’s Ian Rappaport gave a rundown on some rumored changes coming for the Jags this off-season. 7:18 PM: The Jaguars have released tonight’s inactive list and to some surprise, safety Barry Church is a healthy inactive. Church was benched last Sunday for rookie Ronnie Harrison, in a sign the team may be ready to move on for good with the younger, less expensive option at the position, and it appears that move is permanent and Barry Church’s career as a Jaguar has come to an end.7:10 PM: Good evening! The Jaguars will do their best to try and shut out a team for the second consecutive week as that appears to be their most likely path to victory with an absolute atrocity on offense. We will see what impact Leonard Fournette has, in his return from suspension and in his first test of the season against the Titans. The Jaguars had been the leaders in the clubhouse for Foles for most of this offseason and some would say really the only one in the clubhouse for the former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and Super Bowl MVP.As expected, the Jaguars will be bringing in the veteran quarterback to replace Blake Bortles. I’d anticipate the Jaguars release Bortles shortly after the Foles deal becomes official, as the team prepares to move forward with the former Eagles quarterback at the helm with his former quarterbacks coach and now current Jaguars offensive coordinator John DeFilippo.Foles was originally a third round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2012 NFL Draft. He started a handful of games as a rookie and looked as you’d expect a third round rookie quarterback to look like. In his next season he came in as the backup and had an incredible season with Chip Kelly, making the Pro Bowl throwing 27 touchdowns with only two interceptions an 8-2 record as a starter. Foles entered the 2014 season as the starter, but despite going 6-2 he had a rough start to the season with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions before ending the season with a broken collerbone and on injured reserve.Foles was traded to the then St. Louis Rams and was absolutely dreadful in his 11 starts, picking up a 4-7 record and throwing more interceptions than touchdowns. In fairness, this was when Jeff Fisher was the head coach of the Rams and he’d been a quarterback killer for a few seasons by then and Foles was the next victim. After a backup stint with the Kansas City Chiefs, Foles followed newly hired head coach Doug Pederson back to the Philadelphia Eagles to backup Carson Wentz. Foles came in at the end of the season when Wentz got hurt and helped pilot the team to a 2-1 finish and then exploded in the playoffs ultimately to a Super Bowl victory and earning the MVP of the game.Last season Foles came in again for an injured Carson Wentz to start the season and it appeared the magic might have been gone, limping to a 1-1 start. Wentz went down again late in the year and Foles gave the Eagles season a spark winning the last three games to send the team to the playoffs. The Foles magic looked back in the Wild Card round as the Eagles drove down late to score and had a nice double-doink field goal miss to hold on. The next week against the Saints however, it was tough sledding and the Eagles got bounced.The Jaguars are signing Foles to lead the way since they still feel they have a good team that can make the playoffs and the 2018 season was just a result of Blake Bortles turning back into Blake Bortles and the team being ravaged by injuries. The hope will be that Foles is that calming force who is going to keep you in games and even drive down the field late and win a few for you.
